It's been less then a week since we've been back and we still can't wait for the next event. Although Big Red was unable to finish the 100 Acre Wood Rally we still see this event as a success. Our thoughts go out to JB and Matt. We hope your recovery is a speedy one.
Big Red's DNF was not due to mechanical problems, though rather a navigational error on the drivers parts. The team was able to complete 7 of the 10 stages ran, though exceeded the maximum permitted lateness (MPL) on the transit to special stage 9. After which, they were unable to complete the remaining stages of the rally.
On Special Stage 7 McGuire suffered a spinout and landed on a log. After losing more than 13 minutes freeing themselves Jobert and McGuire we able to finish the stage and make it back to service.
After a brief service they headed back out for the long transit to Special Stage 9 where the navigational confusion was incurred and the MPL exceeded.
Final times will be posted once all of them have been made available. Also look for some in car video of 100 Acre Wood coming soon as well.
The team will be attending the next Rocky Mountain Division RallyCross at CSU in Fort Collins, CO on March 3rd.
