Big Red Racing returned from Bemidji, MN this morning with a couple items on their to-do list.
Stages one and two were fast, and full of soft sandy ruts in the turns dug up by the earlier Open class cars. All seemed fine until Stage 3, a super special that has more then its fair share of rutted, hard turns after which, on Stage 4, the team lost a tire two miles from the finish. After replacing the lost tire, McGuire and Stevens attempted to nurse the car to the finish to better examine the damage, though were called out by sweep.
"Being our third stage rally it seems we are still learning the ups and downs that you experience with performance rally”, said Brian. Big Red will be foregoing the Land's End Hill Climb in Grand Junction, Colorado, slated for August 25th, in order to prepare for the COG Rally on September 21st in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Look for pictures of the trip to OFPR coming soon.
