Haven't updated in awhile since there wasn't much going on with BigRed. A week after we came out of the shop on our first RallyCross of the season we threw a couple rod berrings and that was that for the DX engine. Because the engine was on about 160,000 miles and 4 Rally's it was time to call in for a new one.
Finally we got ahold of a wrecked '89 CRX that we could pull an engine from for a small price. Plus less hassle with conversion of wiring and what-not. Currently the engine is awaiting a rebuild while I'm off to Oregon Trails ProRally to service for the 40/40 Racing sponsored by Thule.
About the time the engine was being pulled it was time for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Defionatly a great feeling with all of the SCCA ProRally cars there. This including Brian and Erica in the beast of an Audi from RPMotorsports. They'll probably have some video and photos soon.
So there you have it. BigRed will be up and running by the end of the month with a new 1.6 Si engine. The next events are posted on the schedule page, so check it out!
