The team arrived last night after an amazing weekend full of the twists and turns that rallies throw at you. After arriving and a rainey Park Expose the team hurried to the hotel to get the stickets and numbers on the car.
Saturday the team was off to a great start, the car was preforming well and the roads were fast. At one point prior to the first service of the day they were a minute off Jimmy Keeny in #418. With Stage 2 being dropped there were only 3 stages before the first service of the day. The longest stage of the morning was also the fastest being Stage 3, after which McGuire and Kraus were running 4th in Group 2 behind Freehill and Elliot (40/40 Racing).
On the SuperSpecial Stage the pair was quick running only 4 seconds off the pace for the Group 2 cars. Because of a miscommunication the team checked in early to an MTC after the SuperSpecial Stage and received an 8 minute time penelty.
On special stage 6 the team lost over 40 seconds when the car almost ended at the bottom of a revine. Luckly the team was able to get the car back on course and finish the stage without any damage or problems.
Even with the 8 minute penelty McGuire and Kraus still managed to finish 5th in Group 2 and 16th over-all.
We would like to thank all of the people that helped us make a great weekend possible. Kurt, our service crew, and his girlfriend we would have been stranded without you. Fred and Chris, our service truck would still be in Steamboat if you guys weren't there. 40/40 Racing, including Brooks, Jen, Mike, Lynne, and I can't forget Sean. Thanks soo much you guys, it was a awesome race to remember.
