Well the summer is nearly gone and Big Red has had quite the humble summer. Since the beginnings of Checkpoint Racing it has left little room for actually racing. There is the whole engine thing as well. After looking at a few different options I finally decided to pickup a friends B16A. So its been a bit of a wait for the engine itself, in the meantime its been all about managing and promoting a race shop.
Grassroots Motorsports magazine is sponsoring the next Colorado RallySprint slated for November 6th at Pueblo Motorsports Park. Big Red Racing, as well Checkpoint Racing will be out there in their massive style. We are working on something special for this event so its certainly one to get to. The roads will be close to what you'd see at a full rally, just shorter lengths. Really the perfect opportunity to see these cars race without having to travel 50 plus miles to watch a couple stages.
Look for more information on the RallySprint in the coming months here or at www.checkpoint-racing.com
This year I will be co-driving to Brooks Freehill #407 at the Colorado COG Rally. Notably, this is the fifth year this event has been held. Since the starting of this event the Colorado Rally scene has nearly tripled. This only tells me Rally is her to stay, truly a grassroots motorsport in the US that is up and coming.
